How To Draw An Offset Line In Excel

Offset data in a line chart

Howdy

I'm very new to excel, information technology has taken me a while just to display a chart. What I'd similar to exist able to do for now is create a line chart that displays data from two sets of information. I'd then like to be able to offset the second ready of information across the Y centrality. If this could be done using a offset value in column D that would be cracking. So to put it simply I could enter a value of say 0.1 and it would shift the plotting of data upwardly or downward the Y centrality.

I have assumed the electric current values in Data2 are to be starting time, rather than offsetting Data1.
If not the case simple change the values in the Fixed data cells.

You lot can use a simple formula to add start value to another cells value.

Thats exactly what I wanted. Is in that location anyhow to stop the nautical chart rescaling when the offset effigy is inverse? Could yous somehow fix the calibration of the chart. Perchance if a high figure was entered could the the line only disappear of the chart instead of the chart scaling to accommodate it?

Your can either add another series and use a cell that contains a maximum value. The scale will accommodate to include this indicate so will be greater than the value. If your offset value is large enough to brand a plotted indicate exceed that value the scale will adjust.
Or y'all tin format the axis and set the maximum value. And then if the kickoff is such as to create information points beyond the max scale the points will non exist displayed.
